🌟 Meet Shannan 🌟
Shannan is truly a bright light in our community – someone with a big personality, an open heart, and a way of making people feel instantly comfortable. Whether she’s walking into a class, a workshop, or showing up fully on retreat (Costa Rica wouldn’t have been the same without her), she brings an energy that people are naturally drawn to. It’s no surprise she’s so loved here at Zen 🤍

How long have you been coming to Zen?
I've been coming to Zen consistently for about 2.5 years. I enjoy Sunday's flow as my weekly go to and you can also find me in gentle yoga.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the studio?
I enjoy the kind and welcoming community that Zen offers. There's never any judgment when walking through the door and people are genuinely happy to see you. The collective energy is empowering and keeps me coming back.
Have you noticed any benefits from classes or events?
Yes!! Being able to intentionally slow down in class on a regular basis has benefited my life outside of the studio. I've also created meaningful connections because of classes and retreats that Zen offers.
Favorite pose or movement, and why?
I love any hip opening poses - especially pigeon! It's a great way to stir up and cleanse those heavy emotions we store in our hips. I need to constantly clear out old energy to make room for new and this pose helps do that.
Any advice you’d give someone just starting out?
Find a class you enjoy and make a commitment to that one class. Yoga isn't about being flexible or doing crazy poses you see on Instagram. It's about moving your body at your own pace, your own way, for your own benefits. Everyone's journey is different. Yoga was the mental support I needed with the physical movement to go along with it. Also, attend a yoga retreat - you won't be disappointed!!!
