About Vanessa
Vanessa France is a writer, yoga teacher, and co-owner of Zen Yoga & Wellness. Before opening the studios, she worked in hospice, walking alongside patients and families through some of life’s most tender moments. That experience continues to shape the way she teaches – with presence, honesty, and deep respect for where each person is.
Her classes are grounded, supportive, and real. She weaves together breathwork, nervous system awareness, and simple, accessible philosophy to create a space where people can reconnect with themselves – without pressure or expectation.
Vanessa is also an autism advocate, a mom of four, and lives with a connective tissue disorder. Yoga has been a steady tool in managing pain and building resilience, and she shares that approach in a way that feels practical and doable. Expect options, thoughtful alignment, and a class that meets you where you are – and helps you leave feeling a little more steady, a little more at ease.
She leads workshops and retreats centered around healing, connection, and coming back to yourself.
Vanessa is the author of Unraveled: A Journey from Breakdown to Breakthrough, a memoir that explores anxiety, disordered eating, and alcohol dependence – and the path back through yoga, faith, and community. She is also the author of Held, a collection of daily reflections designed to offer gentle support, grounding, and perspective in everyday life.
