August Mother/Daughter Warrior Duo: Kayla & Azleen
Meet Kayla & Azleen
At Zen Yoga, we're constantly reminded that yoga has the power to strengthen more than our bodies. It builds confidence, creates connection, and often brings people together in the most meaningful ways. This month, we're honored to recognize not just two dedicated students, but a wonderful mother and daughter who inspire us every time they walk through our doors together.
What began as one daughter's yoga journey soon became something they could share. Their story is a beautiful reminder that it's never too late to try something new, support one another, and grow side by side. Whether they're encouraging each other through class or celebrating one another's progress, Kayla and Azleen embody the welcoming, supportive community we strive to create at Zen.
Kayla
I have been regularly attending Zen Yoga since April of 2025. I started my journey wanting to not only get in physical shape to improve health conditions, but to exercise my mind in order to help with my mental health. Since attending, I have gained an unexpected amount of confidence, self respect, self love and a great sense of belonging. With the love and support I receive not only from my instructors, but my peers I feel as though I can take on anything. Zen Yoga has become a very important part of my daily routine and started a passion for exercise and fitness.
Azleen
I was a guest when my daughter invited me to attend a class with her then officially joined in August of 2025. I had originally started attending to spend time with my daughter as she is a regular member but that turned into a more personal goal of health improvement. For years I have struggled with arthritis in my back and found that through these exercises it has relieved pain and pressure and allows me to be more mobile vs a regular gym where I could not target the core. The encouragement and support I get from my daughter, peers, and instructors in the class has really opened my potential that I forgot that I had within myself. I would recommend anyone that has any physical injury to ease their way into the studio as it has many benefits to one's body and mind.
Thank you, Kayla & Azleen, for sharing your story with us and for reminding us that some of life's greatest journeys are even more meaningful when they're shared. We're so grateful to have you both as part of our Zen family.💛
