Meet Andy & Brit
Two journeys, one shared love for yoga, movement, and community!
This November, we’re excited to recognize Brit and Andy as our Warriors of the Month!
Since joining Zen in early 2025, this husband-and-wife duo has embraced a variety of classes, challenged themselves in new ways, and become a wonderful part of our community.
We love their enthusiasm, willingness to try new things, and the joy they bring to the studio.
Get to know Brit and Andy below!
How long have you been practicing at Zen?
Our journey started in early 2025. We hadn’t practiced yoga before but always seemed to think and talk about it. It was a chance to take on something new, and we really embraced it from the start.
What does belonging to the studio mean to you?
It has meant the world to us to be part of this amazing community. We especially love the wide variety of classes the studio offers. We can choose classes based on our individual preferences and also attend together, which is a bonus!
The support from the other yogis is the cherry on top. Everyone has been so kind and supportive, and we always leave class with a smile.
What benefits have you found from practicing yoga, barre, and/or Pilates?
Andy:
Hot yoga reminds me weekly how strong the mind and body truly are, especially a Jessica P. double for maximum challenge!
Barre has helped me the most with outer hip strength, and Pilates also helps strengthen my body, which translates to more stability in yoga poses.
And there is nothing better than meditating in a class with Emily. I move the least in this class but experience the most growth.
Brit:
Yoga, especially, has taught me perseverance through slowness, movement, and holding poses that aren’t always comfortable.
Barre and Pilates have tested my endurance and strength and helped me reach new personal heights that once seemed out of reach.
What is your favorite yoga pose and why?
Brit:
Star Pose! I feel like it’s me putting my full energy out into the universe and representing all the things you can reach for. The ultimate power pose!
Andy:
All the heart openers! But if I had to pick a favorite, it would have to be Reclined Butterfly. It’s a heart opener that also keeps the hips open for a full-body release. It’s my go-to meditation pose at home.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with newer yogis?
Variety is the spice of life! Try classes that you think are outside your comfort zone.
Zen offers so many great classes with amazing instructors, and there is something to take away from each class.
From All of Us at Zen Yoga & Wellness
Brit and Andy, thank you for being such a wonderful part of our Zen community! We love seeing you explore different classes, challenge yourselves, and share this journey together.
Your enthusiasm and openness to trying new things are a beautiful reminder that yoga is about so much more than what happens on the mat.
Congratulations to our November Warriors of the Month! 💗
