June Warrior Trio: Kathy, Katie & Michelle
🌟Meet This Fabulous Trio🌟
This month, we’re so happy to highlight Kathy, Katie, and Michelle - three longtime friends whose shared yoga journey has become such a beautiful example of connection, balance, and showing up for yourself through every season of life. As dedicated educators, mothers, friends, and caregivers to so many around them, their story is a powerful reminder that making space for your own well-being matters too. We’re incredibly grateful to have each of them as part of the Zen community.
“We’ve been close friends for over 40 years and started our yoga journey together at Zen Yoga about three years ago. As working moms, we spent so many years putting everyone else first and ourselves last. Yoga helped us realize that taking care of ourselves isn’t selfish — it’s necessary. When we feel balanced in mind, body, and spirit, we’re able to show up more fully for the people we love.
At this stage in life, choosing to focus on our own well-being has been incredibly meaningful. The welcoming community and wonderful instructors at Zen Yoga have truly been transformative for us. Our practice has helped us better manage stress while also supporting us through the physical and emotional changes that come with midlife.
Child’s pose and pigeon are two of our favorite go-to poses, but Yoga Nidra is where we’ve noticed some of the deepest inner shifts and sense of calm. One of the beautiful things about yoga is that you can begin at any point in life, especially when you embrace the slower, more mindful pace it encourages. While we sometimes wish we had found yoga sooner, we’re incredibly grateful to be on this journey together now.”
Kathy, Katie, and Michelle have each spent so much of their lives caring for and supporting others - whether through their work, their families, their friendships, or the many ways they show up within our community every single day. Their kindness, encouragement, and steady presence have touched so many people over the years, and we feel incredibly lucky to have them as part of the Zen community.
Their story is also such a beautiful reminder that self-care matters at every stage of life. Taking time to care for yourself isn’t selfish - it allows you to continue showing up for others in a more grounded, present, and sustainable way. We’re so grateful they found their way to Zen, and even more grateful to be part of their journey together.
